In the heart of the present city centre, in Rua das Flores (Flowers Street), the Misericordia do Porto Museum, in the very same building that housed the Administrative Services from the 16th century until 2013.
Since July 15th 2015, the museum exhibits the history of one of the oldest institutions in the city of Porto – Santa Casa da Misericórdia -, its collections are a significant part of the history of the city in the last 500 years. The execution of the 12 Martyrs of Liberty, in 1829, and Dom Pedro actions while Director of the institution, are some of the facts related to Liberalism, displayed by the museum.
